Subject: Data Warehouse changes (I'm changing the layout slightly)

Hi all,=20
This week I will be making some changes to the Data Warehouse (DW) to =
make things easier to find. I will be changing some of the customer =
names under the byname/ directory, so that hopefully they will be easier =
to find.

Current naming scheme:
- If there is no reseller, the byname/ name will simply be the name of =
the customer.
- If there is a reseller, the byname/ name is =
"<reseller_name>(<installation_site_name>)".
This made sense when our DW was designed and our major strategy was to =
do sales and support through resellers, and Nissho was our main customer =
(and customer support outsourcer). This is no longer the case and it is =
more common to look up information in the DW via the installation site =
and not deal with the <reseller_name> at all.

New naming scheme:
- So for those customer names that are of the form =
"<reseller_name>(<installation_site_name>)" will be changing to be =
simply "<installation_site_name>".

Impact of these changes:
- This process will take a few days to complete.
- New data for any gateway that was going to a customer name of the old =
scheme will now go to a directory with the new name. The older data =
will remain in the old directory for a few days until I migrate it over =
to the newly named customer directory. So you will still find the data =
under customers with the old name, however there will be no new data put =
here, it will all get put under the new name.
- Over the next few days I will be migrating the data out of the old =
named customer directories to the new ones, Once I do that, I will =
delete the old directory and it will no longer be confusing to see the =
old customer directory there and not know why there is no new data =
there. You will have to find the new customer directory.

Ian
