It's related in the way that we needed to create this standalone install
to allow upgrade from 2.2.x to 3.0.
I think you can use it.

Larry sent me an email saying defect#18276 should be used to check in
the stand alone install stuff, but looking at it, it doesn't seem to be
even remotely related.  Is there a defect already in existence that
people would like me to use, or should I just file a new one?
