We need to add this one to the wiki or whatever. Maybe some BSD build
hints file.

In the directory openbsd/src/sys/arch/pmonmips/compile there are only 2
files that are in perforce: .keep_me and TRANS.TBL. The rest should be
cleaned out if a BSD build fails or strange assembler errors occur.

Cleaning out the compile directory should be in the clean target. Not
sure why it isn't.

I am building BSD as you in your FB-DELOREAN directory. It appears to be
running as it should.

I think I see what is going on. I was able to successfully build BSD in
my own FB-DELOREAN branch then I looked at my build.log and compared it
to yours. My build starts out doing a make depend in the kernel
directories. I bet when your build your kernel directories got dorked. I
remember Dan telling me (and others who hit this assembler problem) that
the way the got around the problem was removing the source directories
and doing a p4 sync again. I don't want to do that, but I bet the way to
fix this is to figure out what files are not from perforce in the kernel
directories and removing them. I think the command p4 sync -e (or
something like that) that shows what files in your workspace are not in
the depot. I will look it up and get back to you.

I think the solution to your dilemma is to clean out the directories
openbsd/src/sys/lib/libkern/arch/mips and friends of any make generated
files. Then the build should work.

Hi Larry,

The build problem remains even after I did the build-bsd.sh clean,
followed again by build-bsd.sh cross and then build-bsd.sh build.

The build log files are in linux-compile:/home/andys/src/FB-DELOREAN/

Could you take a look? Feel free to do whatever, but don't delete the
changes I've made to openbsd/src/etc/ or nfx-tree/ source files.

I have to take off now but I'll be on email later so if you find
something let me know so I can carry on at home tonight.

Thanks,

a
