I don't know why you would need to modify the includes for building the
tool chain. The neteee and other directories are only needed when
building the
kernel since we have written some drivers of our own. Those should not
be needed when building the tool chain.

One of the questions I have rattling around in my brain is:
Will we ever need to build our own cross tools if we can just pull them
from Debian?

One of the reasons that we would is if we modify or need additional
header files for either the linux kernel headers or the standard headers
in sys and sys/arch (mips) directories.

I see our BSD distribution has include/neteee directory I think the
previous Linux kernel Dan was building used the ones that were
eventually were checked into BRANCH/linux/include.=20

Given this bit of information it seems we will need to build our own
cross-tool chain, or at the very least package our changes to be
installed along with a prebuilt tool-chain.

Any thoughts/comments?

I've updated the packages
in /n/software/cougar/mipsel-crosstoolchain-i386/ to the latest and
greatest versions of gcc-4.1.1 and binutils-2.17. There are .debs
and .rpms for your package installation pleasure.

Enjoy.
