Curious to know what the bugs were.

That tar command specifying a wildcard in the file names to extract was =
working, and should have worked. I am bothered by not being able to spot =
the defect. I am more bothered if what I was creating was fragile or =
just a bunch of subtle bugs strung together that somehow work (or gave =
the illusion of working). Flame me if needed. I can take it! ;-)

I seem to have fixed the immediate bugs, but your screenlocker kicked
in while I was waiting for the system compare test to complete, so I
haven't tested system upgrade or anything else besides system compare.

I believe that I completely sync'd the version of the script in the gvim
window with the one that we were executing on the filer.
