Tim,

The widelink rule in NCM should read "/net/marge/scratch", not =
"/widelink/scratch". There is nothing magic about the word "widelink" =
when setting up a symlink translation rule.

This customer is trying to utilize the widelinks feature from 2 =
environments that he perceives as being the same - he is managing his =
NFS shares via the /net automounting in a NIS domain, he is also using =
the CIFS protocol and is accessing widelinked files within the windows =
domain - as you will see from the email below the CIFs widelinks working =
- I believe it must be possible to have separate links from within the =
/net structure for the NFS widelink - Is it possible to create both =
links concurrently?

Regards

Tim

symlinks are now working in windows since i updates beta's dns, but i=20
don't see how i can get it working with unix.

in unix and ls -las gives...

  16 lrwxrwxrwx   1 ktaylor  syseng        25 Mar 14 14:14 scratch ->=20
/widelink/scratch/ktaylor

also see attached jpg. that works fine from windows, but it obviously=20
don't work in unix.

this is what unix needs...

16 lrwxrwxrwx   1 ktaylor  syseng        26 Mar 14 14:31 scratch2 ->=20
/net/marge/scratch/ktaylor

is there a way i can get a link working that both windows and unix=20
understands?
