Changing to a more efficient partition scheme would certainly help. Andy
has done the work and wants to get it into Delorean, however, if I
understand correctly, QA rejected it because they don't have time to
test a change like that.

GNS was not the only contributor to increased library and application
sizes. The SNMP project also added a few megabytes to libraries and
application.

It is only libssl that is being statically linked into applications. If
I had time I would measure how much that is actually contributing to the
code bloat. However I think it is more likely due to the additional 9
libraries that need to be linked with the 26 or so applications that use
libcluster.

Do we need to consider changing the partition sizes? Also, the
cluster DB is only going to grow, so /usr/local/agile/conf capacity is
more likely to become an issue w/ Delorean.

EMRS could detect, warn, and cleanup /var proactively. Similarly it
could detect and warn that /usr/local/agile/conf is near 100% full.
I'm talking to Ian about this.

The linkage of various libraries changed in cifs_gns branch. See
changelist 22705. It looks like some libaries are now statically
linked that previously weren't.

Folks,
There has been a rash of upgrade failures due to /usr/local/agile
running out of space during the upgrade. Check the partitions of the
compact flash before you start the upgrade and remove old copies of nfx
libraries and executables if you have them. Look for backup copies of
the directories especially if you inherited the system from a previous
user. For instance an upgrade failed on one filer and the system had
complete copy of /usr/local/agile stored under /usr/local/agile/old.=20

I need to find out exactly how much free space is needed in
/usr/local/agile for the upgrade to succeed. When I do I will let you
know what that number is. What I do know is 20Mbytes of free space is
not enough.=20
