This is not exactly true, if the Windows user has changed directory to
the mapped drive (for example, has his home directory opened in the
explorer), the drive will stay connected for indefinite period of time.
The CIFS connection is considered idle when no files are opened through
the connection.=20
=20
On the other hand, we will disconnect idle NFS connections after 10
minutes. The clients will also disconnect idle connections. The NFS
connection is considered idle if there were no NFS requests sent through
the connection.
=20
Agree with the statement about getting more filers with that many active
users.

Yes, it was raised a while back (1.3.1?).
	=20
Steffen, I think it's unlikely the customer would see that
problem -- I believe Windows disconnects even a mapped drive after a
certain period of idleness, somewhere around 30 minutes. And if they
have all 2500 CIFS users active at once, they certainly need more than
two Bobcats...
	=20
NFS over TCP does not disconnect, so it's more subject to this
limitation.

I believe we are at 8K TCP connections in the current release. =20

The SAG on page 9-9 states a max. number of Concurrent TCP
sessions of 4k.

If I would have a cluster, each unit serving one vsvr. Each vsvr
has one volume with 2500 CIFS user home shares. All users are present
and logged into their desktops. One unit breaks, the vsvr would fail
over.

What happens ? Will the limit be hit and some of the users lose
access to their home_dirs ?
