This is not a complete answer but if you are running 2.2 or later the
file used in system compare is pointed to by
/usr/local/agile/conf/current.bom. This file is a list of all the files
contained in a release distribution. However it does not list files such
as system logs, elog message files, crontabs, and configuration file
created by the initial configuration. It also does not list the cluster
database files that are created after a system configuration.=20

If you are running 2.2 or later you can use this .bom file as a
reference to see what may have been added to the CF. It will give you a
rough idea of how many files should be on system. It should also be
helpful in finding where the old admin added files. If you find files
on the system that are not in the current.bom file then you can ask
customer service about that file or set of files.

If you are running a release prior to 2.2 you could still obtain a .bom
file from a 2.2 release and it would be somewhat close to what you would
expect to see on the compact flash in a 2.1 or earlier release.

I hope this helps,

Larry Scheer

Subject: How to verify/remove unwanted/unnecessary files on the CF

Hi all
Odd question here.
Old admin mounted his CF and put data there. Now new admin is trying to=20
clean up the mess caused by this.

He's run 'system compare' and it seems to show only a few of the
expected=20
deltas.
But his question is
How do I find and remove the files that shouldn't be there?
How many files should I expect on a clean CF?

The assumption is the system compare won't show odd files that shouldn't
be=20
there.

Can anyone shed light on this?

Thanks!
Michael
