that would also be connected to a DHCP server? Yes we do, but there are
times there are no DHCP on the network at all.=20
3.) If so, is this the majority of cases? If not, would having a DHCP
client make this scenario more likely? It's pretty split, telecoms
especially do not have DHCP because fear of someone plugging in their
secured networks. Bill, can you elaborate since you had more field time
in this area.=20

I think the best approach to this is do DHCP, it not able to obtain
lease, then have a default IP and subnet mask set to something we know.
Is this technically feasible
