Yesterday's merge of lambo into R2_1_X_work came as a surprise to me.
Yes, you and I did discuss the merge strategy and what happened is not
what I remembered discussing. So I just checked your white board to
confirm what I remembered. No where on the board do you show a merge
into R2_1_X_work and that is how I remembered it. I just want to state
this for the record so there is no confusion as to what plan I reviewed.

You said you just came up with this plan so I know you have a good
reason for wanting to do this. I am just questioning the timing of the
merge. The Clio code base was not to have new features and was meant to
be a merge of 1.3.3 and 2.0. The FB-LAMBORGHINI code base introduces a
host of new features that are at this time not backward compatible. It
would have been nice to wait until Clio QA was complete and was
officially out the door before merging the code bases. It would have
also been nice to have had some notice of your plans and a bit of time
to consider the impact it would have on developers.

This is also the plan that's been on my whiteboard for a month and
discussed and reviewed with Larry and others. If you want to go check it
out, it shows how the branches were created and used to support the 2x
releases and shows that when we release any of them we lock and
effectively end-of-life the working branch. Any patch support work
switches to the matching rel branch.

What I didn't show, and actually just cam up in the context of switching
FB development from 2.1 based branches to 2.2 based branches ( since the
long pole FBs span multiple releases we need to do this ).

If there are any questions or anything please let me know, and again,
sorry for the confusion.

Hi Tim.

The R2_1_0_rel branch has been created and is open for any 210x work.
The branching model I used to support the 3 concurrent 2x release
requires this so as to alleviate large-scale merge issues when synching
branches and collapsing to MAIN to facilitate updating of the ongoing
feature branch work.

This shouldn't cause any problem to use R2_1_0_rel for support work, and
I've already updated the base Clio 2.1 with the help files and
supporting makefile.

The rest all sounds good, just please let me know when to build and I'll
get it to you as quick as I can.

Thanks Tim.

During the meeting today we discussed the issue of the web-ui help
files.
The decision was made to respin the release to include the help files.
Charissa will verify that HCL has completed all the fixes they are
planning to make.
She will then give Ken the go ahead to spin the release.
QA will test all the help files and links today. Dev will respond to and
fix any problems that are found
QA will also perform a regression test on the web-ui.
The goal is to complete all testing by the end of today so that the
handoff can be made to ops by tomorrow.
Jerry is to check to see if ops plans to work on Friday. If not, then
ops does not need the release until Tuesday.

Sandrine to check with Ken on the status of the R2_1_X_work branch. As
of now the branch is not usable
by dev due to the integration of lambo into the branch. Dev has
requested that the work branch be usable
for development of 2.1 patches.

The Clio TOI and release party will be planned for Friday Jan 5.
