Below is the Slind maintainer's response to my question posted to the =
Slind User's mailing list. Before I received this message I was looking =
into all three options he outlined below. I will continue to pursue =
getting Slind to work, but unless somebody tells me different it will be =
a lower priority task.

For the immediate future I am working on using pre-configured archives =
placed on /n/Build-Trees as the source for the release canditates' root =
file system. Creating these archives requires a few manual steps and a =
filer. It is not my ideal solution but one that will work.

Should Slind start working as advertised it would give us a fully =
automated solution that works in a cross-build environment.(For the =
casual reader subscribing to this mail group that means no longer =
needing a filer to finish the installation and configuration of the =
Linux filesystem.) This possibility make using Slind too attractive to =
abandon completely.

Larry

Unfortunately, atm we do only support "addon packages" installation in
bootstrap time from the Slind mirror you use. Thus, you have a couple
of options:
1. Patch slindctl to support addon mirrors (best :) and submit a patch =
to us.
2. Prepare a mirror with a mix of your packages and our packages (hard =
:).
3. Install them by hands using cross-shell after the bootstrap.

Well, I think it makes sense for you to tell the list which kind of
packages you have that we miss, and we can, for example, add them to
our target packages, if they are useful for outside world.
