First let me say I am sorry to hear your report from the Doctor wasn't
good news. I do hope you are able to make a full recovery.

Actually, the Linux cougar kernel builds (opt and dbg -- that is what
Ken is doing...) failed. I expected them to because I have nothing to
stop them from being run. However Ken's script must not be looking for
failures in that build. I examined this morning's logs and sure enough
there are the failures. To examine the logs you need to log into k2 as
user "build" (pass is 2build!) Just vi
/perforce/buildlogs/dev/Friday/linux-kernel-cg-dbg.log

You will find:

/usr/local/sde4/bin/conv -f bin -o linux-mips-2.6/vmlinux.bin
linux-mips-2.6/vmlinux.32 =20
linux-mips-2.6/vmlinux.32: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [linux-mips-2.6/vmlinux.bin] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/perforce/trees/dev/linux/kernel'
make[1]: *** [/var/nfsroot/cougar/boot/vmlinux.bin] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/perforce/trees/dev/linux/rootfs'

I am not in a hurry to check this stuff in as long as Ken's scripts are
continuing to run and not blocking any work. For instance if his script
would halt all builds because it detected this failure I would scramble
to get this fix in. But hey, if he is ignoring it so will I, for now.

If you feel up to it I made some more changes to the top level Makefile
and to linux/kernel/Makefile that you can look at and tell me what you
think.

Larry

Hi Larry,

Well, I saw that the nightly build passed, but I didn't see a checkin
from you, so I guess either there is something terribly wrong with Ken's
build script, or something right with your Makefiles! Hee. Anyway,
let me know if you have a serious hankering to check in that changelist
today and I'll try and have another look at it, otherwise we can get
together as you suggested Monday or Tuesday. I'm afraid I received not
good news from the Doctor today so I'm kind of trippin'.

Cheers,

a
