Huy,
I case you have not received an answer to your question. No the =
upgrade command does not default to upgrading the secondary flash. You =
need to specify -s on the command line.=20

Steffen,
I will raise this with engineering. Was lports ever configured for =
aggregation at one point?

I have seen the customer do the upgrade and not consistently use the -s =
flag for the system upgrade and system reboot command, causing him to do =
many things I.e old settings.

Does anyone know if system upgrade command now defaults to upgrading =
secondary flash these days? I know upgrade of the primary is not =
supported.

This case comes from ZDF. They had a serious of strange behaviors since =
installing the filers (NDMP issues, time zone changed into PT after =
reboot etc.) And now this MAC addr rotation.
Huy Duong was onsite while he was here in Germany and checked their =
setup. All seemed to be ok. Huy please correct me if I'm wrong.
We are working on large deal with ZDF and urgently need to get this =
installation stable. If you feel an onsite visit would be necessary, =
please let me know and I'll make that happen.

In the case, the customer doesn't say that there is any problem he =
notices on his network, just that he sees it in the "port show" output. =
Can we check with him if there is a problem?

That will tell us if there's a problem with the Ethernet hardware =
itself, or if there is a problem with the code above it that's trying to =
read and display the MAC addresses.

BTW, they do have an lport, but it's not an aggregate:

I wonder what kind of network switch we are connected to and what its =
configuration is.

If there's no lport config the mac's shouldn't be doing that. They =
shouldn't be doing the bit rot thing Andy pointed out either.=20

No, I looked through the lport config.

Is there an lport aggregation setup on this system?

Paul,

From what I have seen, when the ports are up, they have the same mac:

Customer is seeing the same MAC address on all fp interfaces.

Rebooting the system clears the issue.
