There is a risk of rebooting the system if the wrong flash card is
removed (human error); there is a minor risk of rebooting it due to a
BSD crash upon insertion and removal of the secondary flash; and there
is a significant (I'd say about 5%) risk of reboot during "system copy
all -i".

Subject: Removal and replacement of compact flash cards in live systems
... case 5903

Hi All,

I have a customer with 2 broken flash cards in one system. Case 5903.

We want to do a system copy all -i on the good system and use that card
to fix the bad box.

The customer does not want to take the good working system down though.

What are the dangers of removing the backup flash card and putting in
another whilst the system is live?

Should we just say no?

At their own risk?

Thanks ... Alan.
