For QA purposes just assume you are smatter than the script and also
know what you are doing. Just ignore the dire warnings about breakage
and tell the script to accept what you typed.=20

It is as Ken explains, the script wants the "official" tar ball names
and gets hinky over the what QA and developers use.

Larry

P.S. If you are up to it you can submit your 2 bits worth of wisdom ;-)

Subject: RE: Upgrade question

Hi Brian.

It's because the cw_install.sh script has a quick-check section that
assumes the filenames are in customer-shipping format, e.g.
EverOn-3.1.0.0, and doesn't understand the R3.1.0.0-090907 format. You
can't just rename the tarball either since that would cause the BOM
compare function to fail.

You could file a bug that kindly asks Andy to add a second set of
filename comparisons for R${N_VERS}BC-*.tar.gz, etc. etc. etc. so the
tool works internally as well.

For your current plight you might either need to do a two-step upgrade,
or possibly make a copy of the cw_install.sh script and edit the check
for your tarball name for cheetah opt. Please don't modify the one in
the build package, or I *will* hunt you down :)

Thanks, and all of that was just my two cents, Dev can certainly chime
in as well here.

-Ken

When I enter the link from the mail eric sent earlier:

Cheetah optimized:
------------------

ftp://upgrade@10.2.0.2/home/upgrade/R3.1.0.0-090907.tar.gz

You have specified the wrong tarball for a Cheetah.
This is probably not what you want and probably won't work.

mandatory upgrade? Guess not.=20

When going from something older than 2.3 to 3.0 or later you'll either
have to do a two-step upgrade or use the cw_install.sh script that we
put together for 3.0.0.0 I believe.

I do something wrong or do I need to upgrade from something higher than

Here is the tenth submittal for the Zonda project. This build brings
Zonda current with patch levels 3.0.0.5/3.0.1.1 and includes the merge
of the feature branch for first install. There is a new OpenBSD
distribution with a number of new fixes as well. Charissa requested a
copy of a clean post-install crontab, which I've included towards the
end of this email.
