Subject: TXRX/FP prom code question

Hi Warren,

What does our PROM code do when the following happens:

TXRX or FP crashes, say with a TLB fault or something.

Does the processor reboot itself, at least to some point in the PROM
code? And does [can] it cause a reset of the PCI bus while it's
booting or going through this?

  - No and No.. :)

Can we clamp our PCI bus and find out?
  - And No---

Wundering in Kamphell,
  - Just a keep on Wundering .....

  - The FP and TXRX go through a crash save exception routine, then
drops to the "debug prompt" IF autoreboot environment is OFF, otherwise
just waits for the reboot from the SSC.

If you want to poke around after an exception in PROM U must make sure
all processors environments are the same and "autoreboot" is OFF.

Warren
