Gents,

Is there a simple way to provide rquotad (or equivalent) functionality?
This has been on our list for some time now but we haven't gotten to it
given our "higher priority" efforts.

Thoughts?

Ok - I need a good work around for this. Jerred said that this was the
last thing they needed to get working before they were going to go to
production w/ this. I need some assistance w/ this because Oso has
great potential to purchase additional storage w/ us. "Snags" don't
bother me so much as long as we have a satisfactory suggestion/work
around for this customer.
Thanks,
AP

Unfortunately, looks like we ran into our first snag at Oso Grande.
Issue is that he's not able to view quota data from client using
standard *nix quota commands, which requires support for rquotad, which
we don't have. =20

I don't know if there is a workaround, but you might want to start a
discussion with Narayan about this.=20

---------------- Comment: ---------------- My 10 year old NetAPP does
rquotad, FreeNas does rquotad (FreeNAS is free); but my brand new ~$75K
OnStor system doesn't do it? Something seems less than right here.=20

We have 40+ servers that will be mounting this file system via NFS,
having them all look through logs is more than a little silly, since an
opensource utility is out there. It is a bit like reaching around my
butt to blow my nose.

I need anouther solution.=20

I understand it isn't tech support's fault if rquotad isn't supported.
But it could be a serious issue on our end. We went OnStor because we
thought that is would be an easy move from our current NetApp.=20
