Andy,
  I think one of the pros to NetBSD that you left out of the document
would be a quicker port of our applications (SSC Daemons and Processor
(TXRX, FP, FC) modules. I need to come up with a bit more substance to
verify this claim, but my previous experiments with NetBSD 2.1 indicated
fewer modules needed changes to get them to compile and link .vs when we
were working on the Linux port last year. Maybe the claim of a "quicker
port" only applies to the Bobcat platform.

Attached is a preview of the Linux v. NetBSD pros and cons research
document I've been preparing by me, incorporating some inputs from
Larry Scheer.

Please do not distribute this to anyone else at this time. Currently I'm
soliciting feedback from just the recipients of this email.  This is an
ongoing process and a later version of this document will be presented
to a wider audience for more feedback in the very near future.
