Now all hosts are zoned and lun masked for all possible wwns. If you do
happen to encounter an issue, please let me know and I will see what I
can do to fix it right away.

This host=3Dg7r6 the other zoning and lun masking activities are still =
in
progress.=20

It appears that the fix to encode the board slot in the MAC address has
already been incorporated.
So zoning for g7r6 needs to be updated accordingly.

If we can predict what the WWN's will be I can do the work in advance as
well.

There are actually two MAC address related changes.
The first one is that on bobcat we are using a slot value of 2; on
cougar we are using 1.
This is encoded into the WWN. This problem is an issue when testing the
cougar migration.

The second problem is that we need to change the algorithm that
constructs the MAC addresses and WWNs
to 1) work off the base MAC address from the chassis seep; not the PCB
seep and 2) to encode the board
slot to accommodate two cougar boards in a single chassis.

The plan is to fix the first problem now so that we can continue the
migration testing.

The second problem was discussed in the last core team meeting. We are
going to defer fixing
this until after beta. This change needs to be coordinated with elab
zoning changes as well as
prom upgrades to all cougar systems.

Tim

I can do the prep work ahead of time on these, effectively zoning each
cougar for the slot 1(cougar) and slot 2(bobcat&cheetah) WWN styles. It
would take approximately half day of zone administration.=20

So if you guys want to let me know when its coming in at least a day in
advance I should have all the zoning completed. Or I can do the work and
let you know when its ready.

Whichever you prefer. Let me know.

Hello,

We have this defect about WWNS being different for cougar, fixing this
will require rezoning the luns for all the cougars in the lab since the
FC WWNs will change. John, could you let us know when you are willing to
go through this ordeal and how exactly you would like to proceed? I
could fix this in any moment, but then nobody will see their luns.

Max
