I finally remembered -- the tool I was thinking about was Slind.  I
thought that this was the packaging tool, but I guess it's the tool that
would take away the need for using a filer to do the config and
installation of the Linux FS.  Right?

I was curious to know about the distribution and packaging tools just so
that I can appear semi-intelligent when asked these questions.  :-)
