Brian,

As I said, I don't particularly expect we'll have use for Wind River,
now or ever, but thought it worth listening to their pitch. Feel free to
attend or not, and if you hear nothing from me after the meeting you can
assume that the Wind River guy had nothing of new interest to say.

All of the SiByte processors support the EJTAG interface, and we have a
Corelis debugger that takes advantage of it. With the tools from
Broadcom, this essentially provides a logic analyzer view into the chip
and has proven to be quite useful. We also have an ICE from some other
vendor, but we didn't use it that much. Since the PROMs are socketed on
the protos, it was easy enough to just remove and reprogram them until
in-circuit upgrades were supported. For Cougar, my plan is to continue
using EJTAG and we can also support an ICE if other folks want it.

From my previous conversations with Broadcom, I'm pretty sure that
Windriver supports the full line of SiBytes. I believe they have Linux
available that runs on multiple cores.
