Hi Brian,

I'd like to set up a meeting to discuss the next generation of Linux to
install on development workstations.

We are basing our build system on Debian, and therefore we need to go
to a Debian based distro, I'm thinking either Ubuntu or Debian. We
will need to upgrade/install this on development workstations rather
soon-ish. Let's get together and discuss these requirements and what
kind of assistance Dev can provide IT to make this happen. We also
should discuss what kind of implications this might have on IT and the
developers, as this will be a substantially different sort of paradigm
compared to how things worked with Redhat/FC. Users will be able to
update packages and whatnot themselves, and we should probably figure
out how to best handle that.

Let's figure out a time and get together.

Thanks,

a
