Well, we finally have Linux able to boot off a CF card:

coolcat:~# df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda1 963336 419124 495276 46% /
tmpfs 216844 0 216844 0% /lib/init/rw
udev 10240 28 10212 1% /dev
tmpfs 216844 0 216844 0% /dev/shm
tmpfs 12288 0 12288 0% /tmp
10.0.0.222:/s_home/users/andys/private
                     3638233408 2977505952 660727456 82% /homes/andys

Phew.

The fix I did is a bit of a hack, not proper at all. But it works well
enough for now. Yes, it is faster than OpenBSD on a Bobcat! ~:^)

For some reason, the kernel really, really doesn't like to boot off the
1GB CF card that Ops gave me, go figure. But once booted it can use
it just fine. So I used one of my own 1GB CF cards.

I must say running off a CF card is really kind of a pain -- NFS root is
so handy!

Happy Xgiving couglettes,

People can ssh into the box if they are curious at 10.2.10.8.
