Subject: bugs in startup, rootfs, initial-config

OK,

Just did a flash_install followed by an initial config, and here is the
list:

If you don't specify the default route to initial config, you get a
parse error from the ifup subsystem saying it can't bring up the
interfaces because of a bad /etc/network/interfaces file. If not
default gateway is set by the user, then we have to make sure we don't
create a broken interfaces file. Either by specifying something like
gateway localhost or no gateway keyword or gateway line commented out
or something.

I get an error from NIS. Which I don't remember seeing in initial
config, but maybe I'm wrong. If it's not in initial config or we
don't have config info for it, we shouldn't be trying to start it.

I get this:

Starting ONStor services: mgmtbus/onstor/bin/emrscron -f
no crontab for root
no crontab for root
no crontab for root
no crontab for root
no crontab for root
grep: /etc/newsyslog.conf: No such file or directory
cat: /etc/newsyslog.conf: No such file or directory
 pm.

There are multiple problems indicated by these messages.

After I get the login prompt on the console, I get this after a while:

login: Running system command : cat /var/config/version
cat: /tmp/boot_state_asd: No such file or directory
                                          Getting elogs

None of this should spew on the console like that.
