Thanks for the reply.  Yes, that is exactly the attitude I need because
of my "distance issues."

I have a Cisco 827.  They really don't get any better than that.  Even
when I worked at 2Wire the HomeGateway guys said that was the only modem
they had in the lab that tested better than theirs.  Plus it has all the
added fun of IOS ~:^)

Things have gotten pretty knarly at work all of a sudden, and I don't
have much time to devote to this.  Stupid work.  Can we try setting it
at 1.5 and see how that goes for a while?

Any news on the horizon from Covad about supporting vDSL?  I hear it
has some improvements on the distance issue.  Of course I would have to
pony up for a new DSL modem, but hey.
