OK guys,

I tried to bite the bullet and use the VPN last night. No-go. I could
only get it to complete the connection 1 out of maybe 10 tries, which
alone consumed about 45 minutes of my time with nothing to show for
it. Then, after a connection was completed and I could log into a
machine, the connection would freeze up and become useless almost
immediately. I was not able to get email, connect to the console of any
of my lab machines, or edit any files.

Please get the ssh gateway machine back on line. As far as I'm
concerned it's the only remote access method that allows me to connect
and work at 99% of the efficiency I would have if I was in the office.
And that's assuming that the freezing up part of the VPN can be cured
somehow.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance -- put me to work on the
issue if it will help -- I can do lots of system administrative like
tasks. Yes, I know I'm just a pretender, but I did get the new liszt
installed and operational, ja? ~:^)

Thanks,

a
