Larry,

Brian Stark did an upgrade to sub12 on one of his lab machines, and
things are somewhat wonky.  /var looks like it's missing a bunch of
directories, /var/log chief among them.  One thing is that it
appeared to upgrade every file, even though he didn't do a system
copy init before hand.  This is the tail end of the upgrade log file

./bin/tar
./root/.bashrc
./root/.profile
