I thought it was supposed to go in onstor/messages, but now I'm hearing
that it is going in /var/log/messages, so I guess I need to fix that in
the wikik.

It's gone.  In an attempt to reduce the silly number of log files,
daemon.log, kern.log, and syslog are going to /var/log/messages now.
Some entries were going to multiple files already.
