Yes, it does the trivial cases OK.  What's broken is many things
besides that - it runs into trouble when being invoked by cron on a
busy filer; it has a bug where it is supposed to be sending elogs and
upgrade logs from secondary flash that has been broken for quite some
time; timeouts are not handled or recorded; things are improperly
gzipped or not ... I forget the rest. Generally if you just do a simple
command from bash, it will work, especially if the filer isn't doing a
whole lot and another emrscron job doesn't fire off via cron at the
same time.

I think I've completed my testing for my raft of changes, which I doubt
will go into beta but might, who knows.   Timeouts are properly
handled, BSD socat is history on Cougar, secondary flash is properly
handled, gzip braindamage is fixed....

I'll probably send it to Ian to review later today.
