I'm not convinced on the timing. I'd say get creative on the bugs about
two weeks out of what has traditionally been called "code freeze" at
other companies. Is that where we are right now? Perhaps that's
where we will be on Monday.

Another topic I would like to bring up is something that Paul alluded
to at the beginning of the meeting, er, the middle of the meeting when
Paul arrived, but I don't want a perception problem to spin up. If
some folks are being defeatist, which is just human nature for some,
then I would say nip that in the bud. No public service announcement
need be made, but I guess if I heard someone saying it's impossible, we
find as many as we fix, we'll never ship, then I would respond to them
that we weren't in any different situation with the beta release, but we
got that done [and hardly bent any rules ~:^) ]. Sure it didn't have
NDMP and whatnot, but that was good because it allowed us to
concentrate our firepower somewhat for more effect. Now a lot of bugs
that were fixed in the beta time frame are not a factor anymore, and we
have the ability to do likewise to some of the other areas like NDMP.

Or perhaps I would just say, oh shuuut uuup, the correct time to panic
is one or two days before the deadline.

Cheers,
