My guess, and I've done enough performance work to make a halfway
decent guess or two, is that we need to get the files off the flash.
Create a small RAM disk where we keep just the web ui files and jpegs
and whatnot, should substantially speed things up.  Switching to a web
server would probably also speed things up, but that's a lower
percentage guess.  Having said that, web servers are designed from the
ground up to serve quickly and efficiently, cache things (not data,
but locations and permission checks) and so forth.  First I would try
using a RAM disk, and then see if we need to even bother with the rest.

Of course we should bother with the rest, but not until Linux/Cougar.
