I've already requested a system for Rob/Tridigital to use; actually
put that in last week. I could not find the lab manager today to ask
him if it is ready and if not why not. Things are going slowly in this
area lately, and my boss has been on vacation so I have no one to
complain about it to.

There has been much talk about the performance aspect of this project
around the halls lately. I've summarized what I think our requirements
are with this phrase: "I will claim that we have met our performance
improvement requirement when the GUI takes only an understandably
longer additional time to do a task than it takes to do the same task
with the CLI." That means that certain things like network overhead
and other stuff will probably add a small amount to the time it takes
to do various tasks. But currently, the "GUI time" can often be
several multiples of the CLI time for no understandable reason. That
can't continue. Example: moving a virtual server from one filer to
another, takes .5 seconds in the CLI, takes a couple minutes with the
GUI. Or so I've been told. You get the idea.

We will easily be able to measure the two times, and be able to tell if
the GUI time is a simple additional increment to the CLI time or some
strange monster like it is now. On occassion. Made worse the more
filers are added to a cluster. Which makes no sense to me or anyone
really.

Does that answer the question? ~:^)

Yes, let's synchronize Monday. I will be trying to get an early start
Monday because my boss will be coming back from a 10 day vacation and I
need to have a lot of appreciable status for him to hand out to his
peers, like the CEO and other useless talking heads.

Cheers,

a
