Yes, well, my inbox got it, but my walnut sized brain apparently tops
out at 2 attachments ~:^)

Anyway, I wanted to ask you if I could log into one of these systems
and poke around a bit. At the bash prompt, not the nexenta software,
not quite yet. My aim is to explore what possibilities there might be
for connecting the source of this message to the nexenta notification
infrastructure. I promise not to break anything ~:^) I'll cc John K.
too just in case.

I also wanted to have an in-depth discussion with you concerning the
SSD and logging, I'm not sure the end of that story has been reached
yet. But before that I want to find some time to poke around on the
ZFS sites a bit to see what more I can learn about the intent log and
so on, so I'll get in touch with you later about that.

Thanks,

a

The Unknown Event text is an example of what is noted in /var/adm/messages when a FRU is messed with in the MD1000. Event Reporting is a list of FRU events and how I observed they were handled by the system(s) currently.

Pat has been looking at SNMP, but the problem is some of the events are reported as unknown messages by Solaris / Nexenta. We'll need to get someone in Dev to help with this, and I think Rendell would be a good candidate for this given his work with SNMP. If you agree, then can you see if Rendell is also free?
