No alternative needed.  Just the mail server and the email address
will be needed, and mutt or mailx can send the email.  No sendmail
needed.

Example: if we were to put this on our email leopard:  configure mailx
with the email server mail.onstor.com and email address
brian.stark@onstor.com.  The fact that they both contain our main
domain name is probably going to be a common coincidence.
