This is to get some software onto leopards without QA knowing about it
or testing it.  Oops, did I say that out loud?

This is to get some event reporting software onto leopards that
virtual-Larry is too ignorant to get into the regular build in time for
it to be part of GA.  Once Larry comes back, he will be able to get it
integrated into the build like normal.  But we didn't want to hold the
release up just for that.

The mod to vfstab supposedly stops some whining that happens when you
have multipathing in use.  I wouldn't know.  I do know that it causes
some new whining in places that probably few, if any, will ever notice.
