I don't see how this could be anything other than a client issue.
Having said that, I grepped the kernel source and the source for
autofs4, for any mention of the string "snapshot" and came up with
zilch, so I'm not sure how the client is grabbing this.  It must be
more generic code, which suggests that leopard would have the same
problem, especially since the symptom in the same regardless of the
filer the customer used.

Personally, I think this is a PS issue.  Offer to fix the issue for
them.  The nominal charge will be $1k/hr for our bestest engineer.
Three or 4 weeks should do it.
