Larry would be good. We use a lot. Just on Leopard ~:^)

Linux kernel obviously. I have contributed back all my changes, or at
least offered them. We are on the good side of the community in
general. Glibc and other user space software, we have not done so. It's
our general belief that our changes are not useful to the community, or
we would have. They are barely useful to us as a matter of fact. I have
on my infinite list the task of setting up onstor.org just so we can
post our changes, but it's never been too high on the list. Ideally
I'd like to get, like $1000, to pay tridigital or someone to do a basic
page that we can then add to when the mood moves us. Would be a good
place for some blogs as well.

We do make some effort to watch our compliance. But quite frankly, I
think this stuff about the GPL is not a real concern. The GPL rarely
hurts you. It almost always helps. And any stuff that we aren't
likely to want to give to the community right now is nowhere near any
open source code. One day it's my plan to contribute storfs and our
NFS and CIFS to the Linux kernel. It would only help us. And if
any competitor were to use it, well, then they would always be in our
wake. That's a good place for competitors.

But I digress.

Used internally and unmodified:

- gcc
- glibc
- host of user space tools.
- various linux distros

Used on the product, modified, not offered the changes upstream, yet:
(all changes except noted are to support our vsvr hack, which no one in
their right mind would want to use, including us)

- exim
- sshd
- glibc (just the resolver library)
- ldap
- kerberos

Used on the product, modifed, changes contributed upstream:

- Linux kernel
- samba (changes not offered recently; changes contributed upstream have
never been incorporated)

If I've forgotten any, Larry should be able to name them.

Cheers,

a
