Need to come up with a plan for branching/merging tuxrx branch back
into dev branch, the relative time frame for that and other related
moves, as that may be the grand move, but there will probably be
interim steps taken to get there.

Coding strategy wrt to FP port: make it portable?  The decision for
tuxrx was not to try to make the changes portable because it will take
over from previous TXRX code but FP code would continue as is.
