Since HR asked me so nicely to be patient and understanding, I have
endeavored to do so.  I actually tracked down a way to install IE6 on
my Mac!  I tested it on the Eabsence application and it worked
like a charm.  However, the unrestrained penchant for pop-up windows is
still preventing me from doing the self review application, as the
emulated Windows environment + IE6 cannot handle pop-up or new
windows.  Is there a direct URL that will get me there, or one that
doesn't try to create a new window? This isn't a matter of pop-ups
being blocked: IE6 can't even do that. It's a matter of my environment
can't handle it.

I have tried that, but when it pops up the new window, it eventually
times out and says the page you are looking for is currently
unavailable.
