This is almost certainly NOT an issue where compile needs to be
rebooted.  Linux isn't Windows, you don't just magically fix things by
rebooting.

Ron almost certainly has failed to set up the correct route on his
filer, or something like that.  Or failed to properly export the
directory he wishes to mount.
